In this experiential 4-week course, you will learn about the theory and practice of mindfulness and meditation and how to apply these essential principles directly in your life.

Each class will consist of talks, guided meditations, Q&As, in depth inquiry into mindfulness and ways to practice these tools in daily life. Each week we will explore how mindfulness helps with key areas in our life including how to:
- Learn practices to help you live your life more fully.
- Develop concentration and tranquility
- Cultivate an embodied presence.
- Manage emotional reactivity.
- Develop balance and equanimity
- Cultivate loving kindness and nurture positivity.
Various meditations techniques will be taught:
- Mindfulness of Breathing
- Mindfulness of Body
- Mindfulness of Emotion
- Mindfulness of Thoughts
- Choiceless Awareness
- Walking Meditation
- Loving Kindness Meditation
Armando Gomes, PhD is a professor at Washington University in St Louis. He is passionate about sharing these essential mindfulness practices. This course is being offered as part of his certification as a meditation teacher through the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP), under the guidance of meditation teachers Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.
The course is open to people new to meditation and experienced practitioners wanting to refresh their understanding of these key teachings and practices.
